Amsterdam Railway System takes a motif from tulip, the Dutch symbol. With the Centraal Station
at the center, lines of tram, metro, and railway spreads out like the stamen and pistil of the flower.
The IJssel (Het IJ, river) forms the petals, and layers of fan-shaped canals complete the tulip.
